      Current Postings:
      • Research Engineer/Computer Programmer

A position in computer science and signal processing is available at Quantum Applied Science And Research (QUASAR) family of companies.
QUASAR is a world leader in electromagnetic field sensors and non-invasive biomedical instrumentation. Research projects include development of static electricity sensors, airborne and underwater surveillance systems, oil and gas exploration systems and lightening detection sensors and physiological biosensors.

The engineer will be implementing signal processing algorithms that integrate data from precision hardware and generate quantitative outputs for applications ranging from evaluating cognitive and physiological states to mapping electromagnetic storms or oil field. Initial work will focus on developing and implementing data processing algorithms for noise reduction in biological signals, including EEG, ECG, EMG, and EOG.

Additionally, the engineer will support the programming needs of several QUASAR projects, in writing software drivers and creating GUIs for controllers and data acquisition hardware.

        Skills and Requirements:

            • US persons (citizens and permanent residents) only
            • Strong background in biomedical or electrical engineering, or computational neuroscience.
            • Demonstrated experience in software development and Windows-based programming
            • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, LabView, and Matlab, with knowledge of other data analysis software being a plus.
            • Experience in data de-noising algorithms, frequency domain analysis, and machine learning and classification methods, including Partial Least Squares, linear and non-linear approaches, neural networks, Bayesian models, and SVM is desirable
            • Experience in efficient programming and debugging of embedded processors, data acquisition hardware, and on-board controllers is also highly desirable.
