QUASAR is at the forefront of research on gauges for cognitive and physiological state.

Under funding from the Army, QUASAR developed a gauge for cognitive workload.  The gauge processes EEG, ECG, EMG and EOG inputs from QUASAR’s dry sensors and creates a simple, real-time display of the wearer’s cognitive state. Recent work has validated both our acquisition hardware and our gauges for establishing states of cognitive engagement and/or overload during the performance of different tasks. Similarly, under funding from DHS, QUASAR developed a heart-rate based gauge for over-exertion that is immune to extreme motion artifacts. The gauge was designed for real-time operation with sensors integrated into a body-armor.
